WELLBEING
Sleep and Menopause
Sleep may become more difficult around menopause for several reasons, including nighttime symptoms and changes in routine or stress.
Start with the basics
A consistent sleep and wake schedule, a comfortable sleep environment and a relaxing wind-down routine are reasonable foundations. Tracking what disrupts sleep can help identify patterns.
When to seek advice
If sleep problems persist, are severe, or affect your ability to function during the day, discuss them with a healthcare professional. Persistent sleep problems can have causes unrelated to menopause as well.
